Vlad The ImpalerKnown for his penchant for blood, Dracula has been the subject of countless movies, books, stories and more. First mentioned in author Bram Stoker's novel in 1897, this fictional figure is actually based on a terrifying prince who also loved the sight of blood. Vlad III and later known as Vlad the Impaler was the Prince of Wallachia. Born in 1431 in Transylvania, he was the son of Vlad Dracul, then ruler of Wallachia. When he was 11, Vlad III was held as a political prisoner before eventually being released years later. 4. Genghis KhanBorn as Temujin in 1162, he would later be known as the ferocious Genghis Khan – leader of one of the most successful armies and empires that ever existed.Khan was born to violent times. His father kidnapped his mother and forced her into marriage. Before turning 10, his dad was killed and poisoned by his own clan and Khan, along with his mother and siblings, were left abandoned by the clan so they didn't have to feed them. Soon after this he killed his older half-brother to become the head of their household. 3. Attila the HunBranding himself as the Scourge of God, Attila the Hun was born in Hungary around 406. He became a feared name during the 5th century when he led the Hunnic Empire to devastate the lands of the Black Sea and several key areas of the late Roman Empire. When he and his brother first succeeded the rule of the Hunnic Empire, they offered a peace treaty with the Romans, initially asking for 700 pounds of gold coins paid per year. 2. Joseph StalinBorn and raised in poverty, Joseph Stalin rose to prominence to become one of the most brutal tyrants the world has ever known. As he grew older, he found himself partial towards the idea of communism, being heavily influenced by Karl Marx's "Communist Manifesto." Over time, he joined the Bolshevik Party, headed by Vladimir Lenin. When the Bolsheviks gained control of Soviet Russia, Stalin served in various key positions within the government, making friends and steadily rising to prominence. 1. After finishing his service in the U.S. Military, he set up his Construction business. After settling into Alaska, he used his job as a contractor to travel to different states to do jobs, but more importantly to commit his crimes. On March 16, 2012, he was arrested in Texas when he used a debit card owned by a young girl named Samantha Koenig. His rental car license plate was caught by an ATM camera which led authorities directly to him. See Eighteen-year-old, Samantha was an Alaskan native who worked as a barista at a coffee stand in Anchorage. In February of 2012 someone had kidnapped her from her workplace. #2 Fritz HaarmannFritz Haarmann’s guillotined head had been preserved in formaldehyde for medical and research purposes for 89 years before it was finally cremated by the University of Goettingen's medical department in 2015.For most people, the name might not ring a bell but Haarmann was a true pioneer – in serial killing. Dubbed as “The Butcher of Hanover” and “The Vampire of Hanover,” he was born in hanover, germany in 1879, the youngest of 6 children. At a young age he would manifest his deviancy by tying up his sisters, dressing up in their clothes and even going around at night tapping on neighbor’s windows to make it seem like something supernatural was happening. By the time he was 17, he was arrested for molesting several children. As a result, he was thrown in an asylum where he was to spend the rest of his life. However, he managed to escape to Switzerland and stayed there for 16 months before making his way back to Hanover. When he got back, he enlisted in the army but was discharged due to a medical condition. Afterwards, he got married and tried his hand at leading a normal life. But In the end, he left his wife and child after accusing her of having an affair. The Queen Mary Hotel – CaliforniaConsidered as one of the most popular transatlantic liners during the 50s, The Queen Mary ocean liner first set sail in 1936. It a luxury liner decked out with various amenities unheard of during the era. It had a built in pool, library, salons, several cocktail lunges, lush dining rooms and elegant sleeping quarters. It was even fitted with a Jewish prayer room with the hope of distancing itself from the racism growing out of Germany during the time. When World War II came, the liner was transformed into a military boat where it held more than 800,000 captives, soldiers and prisoners of war during its service.2. Drought Reveasl Massive Hidden HengeNot for 160 years has Ireland experienced a massive drought and heat wave like the one it’s going through right now. But this latest one brought with it a surprise when it revealed the location of a previously unknown 4,000- 5,000-year-old henge in the historic Boyne Valley. It was a fine day when author and photographer Anthony Murphy decided to fly his drone over the famous prehistoric passage tomb, Newgrange. Murphy is a specialist of megalithic monuments and runs the website, Mythical Ireland. He’s interested in ancient structures, especially those in the Boyne Valley area. 4. Lucy LetbyFor more than a year, police had been investigating the deaths of 17 babies and possible harm inflicted on 15 others at Countess of Chester Hospital in Chester, England. The investigation was called on by the hospital in May of 2017, after they noticed a higher than expected mortality rate of premature babies and infants between March 2015 and July 2016. The hospital asked police to rule out cases of “unnatural deaths” and soon they narrowed it down to 8 cases before officially discovering a total of 17 babies dying suspiciously in the hospital while 15 others suffered “non-fatal collapses” which is when a baby’s health suddenly declines but manages to survive. 3. Liquid Lake On MarsThere’s liquid water hiding on Mars after all. That’s the good news brought by scientists this past month when they announced they found a body of water lying less then a mile underneath Mars’ south pole. For decades, scientists have been wondering whether liquid water was actualy present on the Martian landscape, since having water could mean the possibility of extraterrestrial life. 2. The Search for Mollie Tibbetts On the night of July 18, 2018, at 10 PM, 20-year old Mollie Tibbetts sent her boyfriend a message saying “goodnight” on Snapchat. Tibbetts was staying at her boyfriend’s brothers’s house in Brooklyn, Iowa. Her boyfriend was two hours away in Dubuque, Iowa for work so Mollie was alone. After this goodnight message, the following day, she was nowhere to be found. Mollie is described by her family as a “fighter.” She is kind, sweet and often has a ready smile. On the day she was last seen, Mollie went out to go jogging. Initial reports said she disappeared during her run but that timeline was off since she still spoke to her mother at around 7:30 PM on the night of the 18th and sent the Snapchat message to her boyfriend later that night. 1. Egidius Schiffer Known as the “Aachen Strangler,” Egidius Schiffer was a serial killer who murdered five women between 1983 and 1990 in the northwestern part of Germany. Ancient Egypt and the Tulli PapyrusDescribed as the first written account of a UFO sighting the Tulli Papyrus is both mysterious and controversial. First discovered in the 18th century by Vatican museum director, Alberto Tulli. It's said that while it isn't the original, the content was copied from an ancient papyrus that Alberto Tulli found while inside an antique shop. Since he didn't have the means to purchase it and thought it was too expensive, he copied it using hieroglyphics instead of the original hieratic script that was written down. 4. India's VimanasPerhaps the most concise and vivid depictions of flying ships and vehicles seen during the Ancient Times are those chronicled in Ancient Indian Text. The word "Vimana" is now commonly accepted to mean a form of "aircraft" but it also bore several other meanings in ancient Sanskrit including a palace fit for an emperor that was usually seven stories high. It was a mind controlled vehicle and literally the word meant, "measuring out or traversing."3. Temple Of Osiris in AbydosKnown as "the hill of symbol and reliquary," Abydos is considered one of the most ancient sites in Upper Egypt. Many believe this same area houses the tomb of Osiris who is the "God of the Undead and the underworld." Perhaps the best-known structure in the area is that of the Temple of Seti I. It's also called The Great Temple of Abydos because it bears plenty of beautiful and well-preserved sculptures alongside having a unique design and serving as a dedication to the 7 gods. Mahabharata Considered as one of the longest epic Sanskrit texts of India, the Mahabharata continues to remain a compelling manuscript that chronicles not just wisdom to last through the ages but even possible UFO sightings and alien interaction. Some of the more fascinating stories found in the epic text is of Vimanas, the attack on the city of Dwarka which involved a flying city, unique ancient weapons, projectiles and more. 1. Rome & Livy's Phantom Ships If Egyptians chronicled accounts of encounters with mysterious fiery disks, it's no surprise that thousands of years later the Romans would also do the same. The 17-year old had left home in Concard California 2 days prior and was heaed to San Fransosco. He was planning to stay overnight and then drive back the following day but he never made it back home. Instead, his body was found bruised and battered, on a desolate beach in the San Francisco Bay. When they found hi, the lifeguard described the body as being in realtivley good condition. There were minor cuts and bruises on his back but no evident trauma and they also noted that he looked “very clean.”A day after he went missing, Kurt’s father, Tom, received an unusual phone call from Kurt’s friend who told him that his son had attempted to leave a cult and because of that was in fear for his life. Tom checked Kurt’s room after and found suspicious items including a knife crafted from a deer hoof, drawings depicting witchcraft, violent fantasies as well as a necklace made with feathers and stones. #2 Audrie Marie HilleyOn the outside, the Hilley’s looked like a picture perfect family, but they were the furthest from that anyone could be. Frank and Audrie Hilley had been married since 1950 and had two children, Mike and Carol. During his late teens, Mike began to fall ill, suffering from stomach problems that were written off as nothing but a persistent stomach flu. Once he moved out of the house for college, the stomach problems mysteriously vanished. While visiting his son at college one day, Frank mentioned he was contemplating divorcing his mother after catching her in bed with another man. Shortly after that Frank himslef started suffering from stomach problems and in May of 1975, he went to the hospital complaining of nausea and tenderness near the stomach. He was admitted, and while his symptoms worsened, Audrie continued to be by his side and stayed by his side until he eventually passed away. The Bermuda TriangleConsidered as one of the most enigmatic places in the world, the Bermuda Triangle has been tied to lore and mysterious circumstances since time immemorial. Many say it's a cursed area, and that more ships, planes and people have disappeared here than any other spot on the planet. Also known as the Devil's Triangle, There are several theories as to why the Bermuda Triangle is so dangerous. Some believe it once housed the mythical island of Atlantis. 3. Beast of Bodmin MoorFor years strange sighting of a beast have been reported in the forests surrounding Dartmoor, England. Rumors of a supposed alien beast haunted the area as it fed on livestock, terrorizing the farmers and their families. This unusual creature was all black and would emit a terrifying human-like scream whenever it attacked. Various grainy pictures soon emerged and after that The locals began to embrace the terrifying myth and soon, the Beast of Bodmin, became a public spectacle, showing up in parades, festivals, books and various articles. 2. Sarah DeLeonIn December of 1989, 18-year-old Sarah DeLeon was last seen leaving her boyfriend Matt Utland's home in Kansas. Several hours later, her bloodied body was found discarded near the train tracks. She had multiple stab wounds in the back, neck and chest. Meanwhile, her car was found 22 miles away. Investigators combed the vehicle for evidence but nothing conclusive came up, they also noted there was no sign of sexual assault on the victim.Family and friends described Sarah as a "sweetheart" and her mother could only remember at least one "enemy," she had named Carolyn Coon who was the ex-girlfriend of Sarah’s boyfriend Matt. 1. Doris Dewberry & Valerie LaneFor nearly four decades the death and murder of 12-year old, Valerie Lane and 13-year old Doris Dewberry has haunted families, detectives and the community of Olivehurst, CA. On November 11, 1973, the two young girls left their home to head to a nearby mall for some shopping. They were seen up until early that evening but when both girls didn't return home, their mothers called in police the following day. When he was just 27 years old, on February 1, 1995 he mysteriously disspaered and has never been seen again.He was good friends with Manic's bassist, Nicky Wire and initially served as the band's driver and roadie. Soon he began helping out in writing the band's lyrics and eventually began playing rhythm guitar. For the band's album "Holy Bible," it's said Edwards himself wrote the majority of the lyrics on it. Even though he wasn't the most talented of musicians, he had a major contribution in the direction of the band's sound. He gained notoriety on May 15, 1991, when he argued with NME journalist, Steve Lamacq, about the band's values and authenticity. Apparently, Steve questioned Edwards on whether or not he was really serious about his art. Edwards responded by pulling out a razor and carving the words "4 REAL" into his forearm. #2 Menger HotelBefore the Menger Hotel was even erected, the site where it would stand was already filled with a rich history. It was in the same area where the famous Battle of the Alamo came to pass in San Antonio Texas. In the 1840s, a 21-year old German immigrant named William A. Menger started to make a name for himself in the area. In a short amount of time, he acquired various breweries and officially gaining the nickname of "Beer King." He went on to marry boarding house proprietress, Mary Guenther and together they transformed the boarding house into the Menger Hotel. By 1859, the Hotel opened for business. It was a beautiful two-story building that was elegant and classy both inside and out. Merger even built an underground tunnel from the hotel that lead straight to his brewery so he could provide an easy access tour to his guests. It stands on two legs and features humanoid characteristics but is only around 3 feet in hight. But despite its small stature, it's said to have enormous strength and can easily uproot small trees with ease. Amanda was a normal teen who loved her family and listening to classic rock. She adored animals and like many others who age enjoyed socializing at parties with friends. On the night of September 20, she headed out to go have some fun with her friends. They got someone to buy them a few bottles of whiskey and rum and then they headed to a house party in North Tonawanda, New York. Afterwards, they tried to get into a bar in Buffalo but were turned away because most people in the group were minors. At around 1:20 AM, friends saw Mandy get into the vehicle of an 18-year old male student from their high school. The friends saw the car drive off onto Oliver Street and that was the last time anyone ever saw Mandy alive again. 5 weeks later when two men were out looking for mushrooms near Bond Lake in Lewiston they discovered her lifeless body.
