Micro Queers: Anaconda (2025) - Horror Queers

Micro Queers: Anaconda (2025)

Released on 01/16/2026

Gather your closest group of friends and get ready to head to the Amazon rainforest because we're discussing Tom Gormican's (The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent) 2025 reboot of Anaconda. Unfortunately, our anacondas don't want none of this, hun.

Join us as we try to figure out who thought this was a good idea (though judging by the box office numbers, the gamble seems to have paid off). Its reliance on juvenile humor, subpar thrills in the snake attack department and complete lack of a meaningful plot make this one big misfire for us.

28 Years Later (2025) - Horror Queers

28 Years Later (2025)

Released on 01/14/2026

Run across that causeway because we're opening the Patreon vault and diving head first into Danny Boyle's unexpectedly weird 28 Years Later (2025) after decades of anticipation. It's Act I of a planned trilogy, but does it stand on its own?

Join us as we discuss the Brexit allegory, lament the predictable zombie fare and laud the emotional gut punch of the third act. Also: take a shot every time we say "maybe we'll find out in the sequel(s)."

Plus, prosthetic penises, Predator-like decapitations, Ralph Fiennes' boney art installation and addressing the Jimmy Savile of it all.

Ex Machina (2014) feat. Miss Sinclair - Horror Queers

Ex Machina (2014) feat. Miss Sinclair

Released on 01/07/2026

We're kicking off a new year with Alex Garland's feature directorial debut, Ex Machina (2014). Joining us for the ride is Garland mega-fan Miss Sinclair from Talk Movie To Me podcast.

This prescient film has aged incredibly well: from its portrayal of an entitled tech billionaire to its naive-meets-incel "white knight" protagonist to questions about the ethics of AI. It's a film filled with questions, which has us posing a number of our own!

Plus: Oscar-winning FX, Ava's "Alicia Vikander drag", Joe's queer cuckolding read, and why we're planning a trip to Norway

Night School (1981) - Horror Queers

Night School (1981)

Released on 12/31/2025

Pull that severed head out of the aquarium and grab a pomegranate to take with you into the shower (seriously) because we're discussing Ken Hughes' Boston-set slasher Night School (1981)!

Join us as we go all in on this forgotten film, from its original title of Terror Eyes (get it?) to its notorious status as a video nasty. And on top of everything, it's got a predatory lesbian character to boot!

Plus: lauding that "is the head in the pot?" diner sequence, wondering why no one gets killed at the titular school, and debating whether or not the killer's M.O. counts as cultural appropriation (spoiler alert: it does).

P2 (2007) feat. Stuart Ross - Horror Queers

P2 (2007) feat. Stuart Ross

Released on 12/24/2025

Take off your heels and prep your taser because we're stuck in a cold parking garage for Christmas with Franck Kalfoun's P2 (2007). Along for the joyride is Stuart Ross from Another Gay Horror Podcast, who's watching the film for the first time! C/W: Sexual harassment

Join us as we praise leads Rachel Nichols and (an admittedly typecast) Wes Bentley, as well as a fantastic flooded elevator sequence.

Plus: beautiful businesswoman Angela's conditioned response to misogyny, fixing the opening, breaking high rise windows, and "debate" about security guard Karl's death.

Micro Queers: Dust Bunny (2025) - Horror Queers

Micro Queers: Dust Bunny (2025)

Released on 12/19/2025

Ride that hippo and stay off the floor because we are talking about Bryan Fuller's feature directorial debut, Dust Bunny (2025).

Starring a perfectly cast Sophie Sloan as a young girl who hires a nameless hitman (Mads Mikkelsen) to kill the monster under her bed, this is a throwback to classic gateway horror films from the Amblin era.

Plus: Sigourney Weaver (and her gun heels), praise for balancing so many genres/tones, homages aplenty, and a new reason to get excited about The Vampire Lestat (hint: it's Sheila Atim).

Jumanji (1995) - Horror Queers

Jumanji (1995)

Released on 12/17/2025

Grab those dice, Sonny Jim! Roll with the punches and and pray they read 5 or 8 because we're talking Joe Johnston's original gateway horror creature feature Jumanji (1995) for its 30th anniversary, or as it could also be called: 'Daddy Issues: The Movie'.

Join us as we go all in on the film that made Trace a fan of creature features to begin with. From its dark tone (especially when compared to the newer Jumanji films) to its scary imagery (will anything be more terrifying that watching little Alan Parrish get sucked into the game?), they just don't make kids' movies like this anymore!

Plus, animatronics vs. CGI, the "cruel torture" subjected to actor Bradley Pierce during the production, our many, many issues with the ending, and why the film needs more Bebe Neuwirth.
