Sour Feet Cocktail Recipe

• 20 ml Jagermeister
• 20 ml gin
• 10 ml lime juice
• Sprite

Instructions:

1. Mix liquor and lime in highball glass with ice and top off with sprite.
2. Enjoy!

A Brief Synopsis: On the run from the law, Alonzo hides in the circus as The Armless Wonder — a performer who uses his feet to hurl knives. Alonzo actually has the use of his arms but keeps them concealed so that his true identity remains under wraps. Meanwhile, Alonzo falls in love with another performer, Nanon, who has a phobia against being touched by a man. Shapeshifter Cocktail Recipe

• 1 oz tequila
• 1 oz Tru Blood (San Pellegrini orange soda can be substituted)
• 1/2 oz Chambord
• 1/2 oz lime juice
• soda water (optional)

Instructions:

1. Add ice, tequila, Chambord, lime juice and Tru Blood into a cocktail shaker, shake vigorously.
2. Pour into rocks glass over ice.
3. Optional: top with splash of soda water.

A Brief Synopsis: When a series of unexplained murders occurs in the normally quiet town of Tarker’s Mill, the residents decide to hunt down the killer. However, many of these vigilantes end up dead, and those who don’t are no closer to finding an assailant. But, when a young wheelchair-using boy named Marty encounters a werewolf one night, the pieces begin to come together. Along with his sister and Uncle Red, Marty begins a mission to capture the werewolf once and for all.

Celebrating the 41st anniversary of its release on June 25, Greg has chosen the 1982 John Carpenter film “The Thing” for our enjoyment this week. Join Greg and Karen as they discuss the film while enjoying an “Antarctic Freeze“. Greg found the recipe below at tipsybartender.com.

Antarctic Freeze
White Layer:
• 1 oz vodka
• 1 oz coconut rum
• 1/2 oz Island Punch Pucker
• 1 oz pineapple juice
Blue Layer:
• 1 oz coconut rum
• 1 1/2 oz blue curacao
• 1/2 oz lemon lime soda
• cherry for garnish

Instructions:

1. In a blender with ice, combine vodka, coconut rum, Island Punch Pucker, and pineapple juice. Blend thoroughly until smooth.
2. In a separate blender with ice, combine coconut rum, blue curacao, and lemon lime soda. Blend thoroughly until smooth.
3. Fill your serving glass with half of each blended mix and garnish with a cherry.
4. DRINK RESPONSIBLY!

A Brief Synopsis: In remote Antarctica, a group of American research scientists are disturbed at their base camp by a helicopter shooting at a sled dog. When they take in the dog, it brutally attacks both human beings and canines in the camp and they discover that the beast can assume the shape of its victims. A resourceful helicopter pilot and the camp doctor lead the camp crew in a desperate, gory battle against the vicious creature before it picks them all off, one by one.

Madeleine Cocktail Recipe

• 1/2 oz Cointreau
• 1/2 oz amaretto
• 3 1/2 oz pineapple juice

Instructions:

1. Put all the cocktail ingredients in the right order : Cointreau, Amaretto Cartron, Pineapple Juice.
2. Served in a champagne flute.

A Brief Synopsis: Based on the classic story “The Fall of the House of Usher” by Edgar Allan Poe and directed by legendary filmmaker Roger Corman, this thriller features Vincent Price as Roderick Usher, a man who believes his family to be cursed by incurable madness. So sure is he of his family’s doom, that when his sister Madeline announces her engagement to Philip Winthrop, Roderick will stop at nothing to prevent their marriage and keep the Usher bloodline from continuing.

Dracula’s Blood Cocktail Recipe

• 4 cherries
• 1/4 oz simple syrup
• 1 1/2 oz merlot
• 1 oz bourbon
• 1 lemon slice

Instructions:

1. Add cherries to a cocktail shaker and gently muddle to break the skins.
2. Add ice, simple syrup, merlot, and bourbon to the shaker.
3. Shake and strain into a glass filled with ice. Serve with a lemon slice.

A Brief Synopsis: Three elderly and distinguished gentlemen, searching for some excitement in their boring lives, get in contact with one of Count Dracula’s servants.

After listening to our recent Wicked Ramblings episode on Cryptids, Courtney in Columbus, Ohio wanted to hear us review “The Mothman Prophecies” from 2002. Join Greg and Karen as they discuss the film while they enjoy a cocktail called the “Red Eye“. The recipe that Karen found on food.com is below.

Red Eye Cocktail Recipe

• 2 oz tomato juice (you may increase to 4 oz if you like yours a bit thicker as I do)
• 12 oz beer
• seasoning salt (may sub celery salt)
• twist lime (optional)
• olive (to garnish)

Instructions:

1. Pour tomato juice followed by beer in a chilled mug.
2. Throw in a pinch of salt and a twist of lime (if using).
3. Garnish with olives and serve.

A Brief Synopsis: Supernatural thriller focusing on a journalist whose wife experienced a strange moth-like vision immediately before she was killed in a car accident. Two years later, driving to an interview, he suddenly finds himself hundreds of miles out of his way in the remote town of Point Pleasant, where there has been a proliferation of `mothman’ sightings. His research concludes that the visions are omens of disaster.

• 1 oz Midori
• 1 oz vodka
• 1 oz white rum

Instructions:

1. Build the liquors into a large goblet.
2. Top with lemonade.
3. Stir.
4. Serve with a lime wheel garnish.

• 2 parts Beefeater Dry
• 2 parts apple juice
• 2 parts cranberry juice
• 1 part grenadine
• 1/4 tsp edible glitter (upscale accordingly)

Instructions:

1. Mix all of the ingredients into the punch bowl and stir for the edible glitter.
2. Multiply the ingredients by the number of servings.
3. Add ice into glasses when serving, or serve with Dry Ice in a punch bowl.

• 2 oz rye whiskey
• 1/8 oz bitters
• 1/8 oz herbal liqueur
• 1/4 oz Demerara syrup
• 1 slice of orange peel

Instructions:

1. Combine all ingredients in mixing glass with ice.
2. Strain into cocktail glass.
3. Squeeze orange peel atop the drink and float peel on top.

The Conjuring Cocktail Recipe

• 1 oz absinthe
• 1 oz creme de cacao
• 1 oz coconut milk
• Black Sambuca

Instructions:

1. Pour 1 oz of absinthe into a shaker filled with ice
2. Add 1 oz of creme de cacao
3. Add 1 oz of coconut milk
4. Give it a shake and pour over ice
5. Take some black Sambuca and drizzle around the edge of the glass
6. Enjoy your terrifyingly delicious drink!

A Brief Synopsis: In 1970, paranormal investigators and demonologists Lorraine and Ed Warren are summoned to the home of Carolyn and Roger Perron. The Perrons and their five daughters have recently moved into a secluded farmhouse, where a supernatural presence has made itself known. Though the manifestations are relatively benign at first, events soon escalate in horrifying fashion, especially after the Warrens discover the house’s macabre history.
