Dan has his  normal two stories again. And there’s a theme with them both -faith seemingly conquering evil. The first story is set in the present day - centered around a woman living alone in North Carolina in what she’d hoped was going to be her dream home. And then a real bad former resident tries to turn her dream into a nightmare. Next, we travel over a hundred years back in time and head to southern India. A prominent family is terrorized by an entity that likes to play with fire. Literally. Lynze has three stories this week. A story about a possibly haunted gravesite, a strange tale that might make you wonder if it was a ghost or a prank and then the creepiest little story about what kids can see that we cannot.

Dan has a very long story followed by a very short one. The long story revolves around a social worker growing suspicious that something is really, really not right at the home of one of her clients. And when she checks on the kids, that suspicion is really, REALLY confirmed. Next some lore and a modern paranormal encounter out in the woods of Connecticut on the supposedly haunted, and abandoned, Downs Road. Lynze has three tales to share this week. Her first one is about some unwanted but possibly harmless visitors. Her second story has Dan and Lynze pondering the intersection of  mental health and the paranormal. Lastly, a quick story about a possible energy vampire!

Bad Magic Productions Monthly Patreon Donation: For the month of July, we decided to use the monthly donation to support The Hill Country Humane Society. Located in rural Texas, they serve a population of people who can hardly afford healthcare for themselves. The shelters are beyond capacity and Texas ranks high (top 1 or 2, depends on where you look for the stats) in the nation for euthanizing animals. The secretary of this foundation reached out to months ago, explaining that one of the best ways the Hill Country Human society could help slow the overpopulation of animals in the shelter is to spay and neuter pets. But being that they serve a low income area, that is often out of the question for owners. With this donation, we are hoping to ease the burden of pet owners in this area, as this organization is in the middle of building a mobile spay/neuter clinic. Dan has one story today. It’s a story unlike any other ever told so far here. Very strange and creepy and good. It's an interesting paranormal take on the ocean. What strange, paranormal monsters might reside down there in the darkness? Lynze dazzles us with three tales this week! Her first, a BEK run in and boy is it creepy! Keep an eye out for one detail that keeps showing up. Then there is a sleep paralysis story that has an extra element of GTFO. Lastly, a slightly lightly but still spoopy tale from a funeral home.

Dan has two tales to tell.  The first one is a story about someone - name never given - who claims to have had a very intense and terrifying paranormal encounter, completely out of nowhere. No warning signs. No building up to it. Life is fine one moment, and they’re in Hell the next.  The second story includes some history, horror lore, and encounter claims coming from a place that bills itself as one of Australia’s most haunted places - the Monte Cristo homestead. Lynze has four short tales this week, trying to mix it up a bit.  She shares the stories of a call from a dead man, a creepy and possibly oppressed college roommate, a doppleganger and the shadow friends of a young child.

Dan and Lynze  have a BIG episode for you today for the 200th episode! Happy Independence Day! Hope our American listeners get to celebrate the 4th of July! Dan will be telling three stories today - Lynze will have another two - you can play a drinking game along to this one if you want. We’ll chat a little at the end like we do on our Patreon bonus episodes - have a little cake and reflect on the Scared to Death journey. Dan's first of three will be about The Doll of Shadows from the Warren’s Occult Museum. Doll lore and supposed encounter story with this creepy, creepy doll. Then a quick one about the Blood Town Forest, aka the Blood Forest, a patch of haunted woods just outside of the little town of Lancaster, Massachusetts. Some locals looked into the legends and ended up scaring the Hell out of themselves. Lastly, we’ll look into another story associated with Ed and Lorraine Warren - Southern California’s Moffitt Family haunting. Possible demonic activity surrounding the Moffitt Family where many people seemed to have witnessed a lot of hard to rationally explain occurrences.  Then Lynze will share her usual two tales. Her first is about a haunted house with a dark, true crime connection. Then her last tale will have you just who or what might be crawling into your bed at night!

What if there is something else down there with them? Then we visit  with the Warren's again.  A bizarre poltergeist tale in the 70's in Connecticut. Lynze has her usual two stories for you this week. Randomly themed with back to back tales about little kids, who are both creepy in real life and in the afterlife.

Dan will finally have another one from Lynze's least favorite category of stories that we tell here… a claim of UFO sightings and alien abduction. The first story is full of claims of a young family from in the 90s, coming in from a small city in Eastern Australia.
Then we examine the story of the Black Flash. Did a shadowy, but seemingly physically very real creature terrorize the residents of a quaint little Cape Cod, Massachussetts summer town? Lynze dazzles us with three spoopy tales. An imaginary friend who might be a friend or might be something else. That is followed up with a strange situation with a woman calling for a man. But who is she and why is she calling out? The final story will probably give you a good chuckle and little chill.

For the first strory, we visit LA’s Cecil Hotel.  It has been home to a LOT of murders, suicides, accidental deaths, and paranormal mysteries over the years. And at least two serial killers have called it home WHILE they were killing. An anonymous ghost hunter and true crime junkie decided to stay there herself and got the scares of a lifetime. For Dan's next story, we’ll explore three separate locations all around Oregon’s Nehalem Bay, another haunted hotel, an urban legend, and some cursed treasure.  Lynze has two kind of lighter tales but still carry their own level of supernatural elements. In the first story, several generations share an encounter with the same male spirit in the same house. Then, a tale about the best kind of ghostly encounter you could ever hope for.

Dan's first story is mostly set in a hotel located somewhere we aren't sure. Whoever posted this tale never gave an exact location and there are several hotels around the country that have had the name “Sunway Hotel.” It’s a nice twist on the creepy haunted hotel story.  The next story is about a mythical creature from Mayan mythology - the Alux, a creepy little creature some people still believe in - like the current President of Mexico. Lynze has three stories, each on the shorter side, which makes them pack a fast paced punch. Her first tale explores ghosts in the graveyard, then she guides us to a hostel for a spoopy tale and then she rounds out the episode with a strange story that is hard to explain without giving it away!
