Episode 51: Horror At The Ohio Film Festival RECAP - The Horror You Know

Episode 51: Horror At The Ohio Film Festival RECAP

Released on 10/26/2022

Our 1st annual film festival "Horror At The Ohio" (the one we haven't shut up about lately) FINALLY debuted this past weekend, Oct 21st and 22nd, at the Historic Ohio Theatre in our hometown. We screened 30 original horror films from all over the world. There were awards, costumes, trivia, music! We laughed, we cried, we spooked -- It was a great time all around!  This episode recaps the 2-day event and gives a small taste of how things turned out. We were very pleased overall and are already looking forward to next year's festival.  *DISCLAIMER - a lot of this audio was taken from Live Streams of the event, so some of the audio quality is subpar. The Live Streams were all done via our Horror You Know Facebook page. For a more comprehensive recap (and for visual reference), we encourage anyone who is interested to go to our Facebook page and check out the Live Stream videos on our timeline to be able to see all the awesome costumes & spooky decorations that we worked so hard to create! https://www.facebook.com/HorrorYouKnow
Episode 50: Halloween Ends - The Horror You Know

Episode 50: Halloween Ends

Released on 10/19/2022

It all ends here... on our 50TH EPISODE!

At least season 1 does. A year ago we started out with Halloween, now we come full circle and finish off Year 1 with Halloween Ends, the highly anticipated final chapter of the franchise... (or I$ it?)

And it is no understatement to say that our crew is sharply divided on this one! We get into a passionate discussion as we break down and review Halloween Ends. We compare it to the rest of the modern day trilogy, and we also hold a lens up to the Halloween franchise as a whole — Does it stand firm at the top among the classic horror franchises?

We end our big 5-0 by looking back on our favorite episodes and stories told on the podcast as well as some fun Halloween-related tales and past times.

Thank you for supporting The Horror You Know for this first year! They thought they could kill us, but like Michael Myers, we keep coming back! So hang with us as we launch into Season 2 with even more spine-chilling shenanigans! Stay spooky friends!

Ian Torrance has us all in a Frenzy with the 1972 Hitchcock classic. The film, about a London serial killer known as the "Necktie Murderer", is loosely inspired by real life English killer John Reginald Christie. Frenzy was the second-to-last film of Hitchcock's career, and evoked memories of his early classics. Was it a return to form for the Master of Suspense?
