We apologize for the intelligence of our remarks, but we're delving into every gay man's worst nightmare (aging) in Albert Lewin's The Picture of Dorian Gray (1945). Tagging in for the conversation is writer and filmmaker Amanda Jane Stern, who turns out to be an enormous fan of the source material!

Join us as we go all in on this adaptation of Oscar Wilde's only novel, but not before discussing the tragedy that is Wilde's life. We then discuss Hollywood's "straightening" of this very queer story, and bask in the glory of what is Angela Lansbury's third film role.

Don't give that kid your whistle because we're discussing Steven Pierce's queer zombie(ish) action horror film Herd (2023), which is currently available on VOD.

Join us as we discuss the ways in which the film subverts standard zombie tropes in favor of a more human-focused story, led by two solid performances from Ellen Adair and Mitzi Akaha. There's a few pacing issues, but overall this is a solid entry into queer horror canon.

Look out for Ghost Mama and avoid death-magnet Laurie Strode because we are talking about Rob Zombie's much maligned Halloween 2 (2009). C/W: the dog dies.

The film has problems, but we're fond of its all-star cast (Brea Grant! Margot Kidder! Nurse Octavia Daniels!), as well as the film's surprisingly nuanced consideration of Final Girl PTSD.

Plus: MVP Danielle Harris and Annie's powerful death scene, human caricature Dr. Loomis, a misogynistic strip club scene, and all of the changes that makes the Director's Cut an improvement over the Theatrical Cut.

Buckle up because we're kicking off "Toxic Masculinity Month" with a doozy: Michael Haneke's polarizing 1997 home invasion film Funny Games (but it's okay if you watched the remake instead because they're the exact same film). Helping us parse through these waters is Justin Nordell!

Join us as we offer a brief primer on Haneke before going all in on this twisted and cruel little film that holds a mirror up to its audience and makes us question the responsibility of media when it comes to violence. From the fourth wall breaks to the infamous rewind scene, Funny Games is one of the most satisfying, if infuriating, viewing experiences you're ever going to have.
