Horror Dads

The Horror Dads are thrilled to be joined by Lauren Marie-Taylor, who starred in Friday the 13th Part II (1981) and Girls Nite Out (1982).  John and Jamie chat with Lauren about her experience in the industry, and about the perception of horror in the 1980's.  Lauren shares some exciting stories about working with other Hollywood greats, and the group has a comprehensive discussion about 80's slashers.  Lauren hosts a podcast of her own called The Not The Final Girl Podcast - check it out HERE. 

The Horror Dads are thrilled to be joined by Tim Jacobus, the artist best known for illustrating the covers for nearly 100 books in R.L. Stine's Goosebumps series. John and Jamie talk through Tim's career and how he got started with the Goosebumps franchise.  Tim's imagery has enamored, excited and scared children for decades.  The Horror Dads get a chance to ask Tim about his experience, inspiration and all aspects of his amazing work.  Tim's work can be found on his website HERE. 

As is annual tradition, the Horror Dads are re-joined by their friend Matt Ryan Tobin.  Matty is an award winning artist with countless published works within the horror genre for some of horror's most respected organizations.  The group takes this episode to discuss 9 Different Hidden Horror Gems, and digs deep to uncover a few films that many may not have heard of. The Horror Dads are re-joined by their friend Tony Cadwell (Director, Producer and Filmmaker).  Tony's new film, Haunted Connecticut, starring both he and Eric Vitale, is due for release on October 11th, 2022 via Video On-Demand and DVD.  Connecticut was home to Ed and Lorraine Warren, and is notorious for being the destination of some of the most haunted places in the United States.  The Horror Dads and Tony discuss Tony's unique filming style and the world of paranormal investigation. 

The Horror Dads, John and Jamie, are joined by their new friend Cory Danziger (actor, musician and conceptual artist) who starred in Joe Dante's 1989 classic film, The 'Burbs.  Cory played the character of Dave Peterson and went on to star in other productions such as Eerie Indiana and Beethoven as a childhood actor.  Cory is a wealth of knowledge about the industry and has some amazing stories about growing up in Los Angeles, as well as about working with a director like Joe Dante, and with actors such as: Tom Hanks, Bruce Dern, and Danielle Harris - you can check out Cory's personal work HERE, as well as his company Scenefour's website HERE. 

The Horror Dads continue their annual tradition in bringing you another Love Letter To Fall - this year's love letter, John and Jamie are again joined by their good friend Justin Carolyne to discuss impactful Halloween-themed television and film from childhood.  The group recorded this episode outside in the cool fall air, surrounded by ciders, pumpkins and hay bales.
