The Throne has come. The entire world has heard the sound of the trumpet, heralding its arrival. Kubaba has been named the Heavenly Queen of Beth-Ur but the ruling elite of that ancient city have doubts about the crown going to a commoner. Strange groups begin to arrive in Midgora including the violent fanatics known as Maulers, determined to purge the city of Eridu of any contamination of Baaltaur's evil that may remain. There is also the Matricians, who hold a prophecy that may illuminate the coming of the Final War between good and evil and the apocalyptic rise of the Black Sun. Among all of this change and turmoil, Isaac journeys to the Tower of Silence, a place no mortal has laid eyes on in a thousand years. There, in the spirit haunted marshes that surround it, he will find the key to securing Kubaba's reign as Heavenly Queen. However, the spirits are cruel, and if he does not shed himself of the burdens of his pain, guilt and bitter rage, Isaac will sink in the marsh and drown before ever laying eyes on the mysterious tower.
