This book is about the protagonist who survives from an attack at a dark night by the lake. He is the only survivor from among others and is willing to risk his life by going back. Throughout the book, the story unveils how John thinks and his emotions that show his actions. Some other things go on in the story that reflect his inner emotions. Nothing holds him back as he kills the monster that ended the lives of his closest friends. The story comes to an end when he attracts someone by having killed.
