Even though an overwhelming amount of evidence suggests Raymond Davis murdered four people, he pleads it wasn't him. The real murderer, he suggests, is a monster that emerges some nights from a box he keeps beneath his bed. Gifted to him at a young age, during a time when adolescent anger consumed him, Mom and Dad told him to put his ugly thoughts into the box. That helped him cope as a kid, but now, as a grown man, he believes something lives inside it. Something that he has fed. Something that he can no longer control.
