Faith knew this day was coming. She knew it when her grandson, Brendan, was three years old and he first uttered the angel's name. Knowing what Brendan would be in for during his spiritual training and assignments made her cringe. She was willing to sacrifice her life - but not her grandson's. She wondered if perhaps there was some way to fulfill the vow and release her bloodline from having to continue working with the angels. Those questions would have to remain unanswered for now, as she readied herself for her grandson's training to begin. It couldn't come at a more inopportune time. Faith wondered how he would be able to focus on his instruction when his family life was being torn apart. How could she be sure he would be strong enough to set aside his own troubles to pass his spiritual tests where failure is not an option? Even at ten years old, Brendan's spiritual gifts are strong, thanks to a family legacy from lifetimes of working with angels. Faith knew that all she could do was teach him, guide him and stand with him when he needed her most. But would their bond be enough to withstand the forces of evil?
