While investigating a devastating house fire in the suburbs of modern day New York, Chief Detective Mike Warner and his team are dramatically sidetracked when it is discovered that an unconscious man, found slumped at the wheel of a stolen car, has direct links to a vicious serial killer that they have been chasing for 4 years. As the frustration of the case and the body count yet again starts to grow, Mike is introduced to a mythological bookstore owner, who has an incredible explanation as to what is taking place.
