For over two hundred years, the forest known as the Noon Woods has surrounded and protected the small mountain community of Durwood – founded, according to local legend, by a man who could transform himself into a deer. Recently Durwood’s population has been augmented by a group of urban neopagans seeking a way to live in harmony with nature. Not all the locals are happy about the influx of newcomers, but when a renegade member of the community brings in a logging company to cut down the Noon Woods, new citizens and old must band together to protect the trees from destruction – by any means necessary.
