The Revulsion of Angel Walker (The Emma Walker Chronicles)

Sixteen-year-old Jared and his twelve-year-old sister, Emma, live in a cramped urban apartment with their parents and their other sister, Angel Walker, who is the unfortunate result of a botched fertility treatment—an amalgam of human parts made from the chaotic conjoining of twins. Emma is terrified of Angel, but Jared is intrigued and wants to help. So Jared uses occult knowledge of which he knows nothing and a ritual he found on the Internet in an attempt to restore Angel to the (literal) angel he believes her to be. But when Emma begins having night terrors and the family’s neighbor kills himself and his family, the siblings realize Jared’s plan may not have gone as hoped. In fact, the ritual sent out a signal—but the entity that answered is no angel. Instead, a demon entered Angel’s body—a demon that two disgraced local priests now wish to bring fully to life. Worried, Jared contacts an occultist who suggests Jared use supernatural methods to protect himself and Emma from Angel. But the renegade priests, who actually belong to a cult that worships the demon, have psychic powers they can use to manipulate and control everyone around them. The priests put into motion a plan to neutralize Emma and Jared, and protect their interests in the demon. As the body count begins to pile up, the siblings find themselves in way over their heads.
