The second installment in the Emma Walker series picks up with Leigh Hoss who is now delivering her baby. Emma and Leigh form a close connection even as Leigh struggles to bond with the child and is harried by its possible telepathic ability. The child was the product of a bizarre ritual conducted by two renegade priests, James Neely and Antonio Romano, who is still at large. Meanwhile, the girls navigate their last year of junior high school after enduring a painful year prior. But there is at least one loose end that hasn’t been tied up. Father Antonio Romano remains free after escaping the psych ward where he was placed by the church shortly before the ritual made national headlines. Romano is wanted by Police for his crimes, but his psychic gifts allow him to elude authorities. He learns that Neely has been killed by Emma and her group, but the ritual the priests conducted allows them to escape one body and enter another. Romano, upon learning of Neely’s death, attempts to resurrect the man responsible for discovering the ritual that allows their group to attain immortality.Team Emma, bolstered by the mysterious occultist Richard Best, her brother Jared, and Richard’s private investigator, Morgan Brady, attempt to stop the priest before he resurrects Neely and the group loses all the ground they’ve gained against Neely and his demon, Crom Cruach.
