Seth, Liz and Jack have stopped the mad plan of Jubal-Denn to take over the Tribe. Relying on each other, they were able to unlock the power in themselves to overcome the evil, but at great cost. While Seth is dealing with the loss of his parents and trying to come to terms with the new gifts and knowledge he has acquired, the Tribe of essence takers are still repairing the damage that was caused by Jubal-Denn’s attempted overthrow. Word reaches the Tribe of the unusual details of a string of murders where all the victims have been drained of blood. With no other available hunters, Seth, Liz and Jack are sent to find the truth. After Liz is kidnapped Seth must unlock the answers to his own inherent powers to defeat her captor and bring an end to the reign of terror. The feud between those who take blood and those who do not continues.
