What is this book about?Featuring 30 original illustrations by Scott Zambelli accenting Mary Shelley’s novel, "Frankenstein: or, the Modern Prometheus" (1818), this book is a combination of Gothic horror story and science fiction. In many ways, Mary Shelley has written the very first book about the dangerous of artificial intelligence while simultaneously exploring the importance we have in having a relationship with our Creator, as well as we out fellow Man. In this book, Mary Shelley introduces us to Victor Frankenstein, a student of natural science who becomes fascinated by the secrets of Life and Death. In his zeal to unlock these secrets, he successfully brings to life a new species of man created from pieces of corpses and other organic matter. Horrified by reality of his own Creation, Victor rejects the newborn Creature and flees - leaving the Creature alone and confused. Though it initially seeks affection, the Creature instills fear in everyone who crosses its path. Lonely and miserable, the Creature is left with only vengeance in its heart towards the very Creator who cursed him with a life of isolation. What is "Crimson Shadows"?The series, "Crimson Shadows", is set in the late 1800s featuring a gothic tale that weaves a number of historical people, places, events, and dates with well known creatures and monsters of fiction. What differs with the creatures and monsters of the Crimson Universe is that the origin stories of the characters are not altered from the original novels written. Instead, the stories of these characters are left intact with the Crimson Universe simply exploring the paths these characters took AFTER their iconic stories took place with the primary goal of reintroducing readers to the original writings - writings that are often VERY different from the stories we think we know through pop culture and Hollywood.
