The town of Ormswell is inhabited by three witches, one of whom who has conjured a monster to destroy her rivals in an effort to secure her place at the devil’s side. A troubled constable struggles to regain order amidst occult forces he cannot control or comprehend. Panic spreads amongst the peasantry as the demagogues of state, medicine, and religion fail. Infernal forces lurk in the shadows as the werewolf’s insatiable hunger threatens to consume them all. While the farmer, John Goode, faces the flames of fanatical justice, a once prosperous and peaceful town collapses in an orgy of fear, hatred and evil.
