Hoofbeats on the High Road

Desperate memories have long whispered through the shadowed halls of the old Connecticut inn, passed down through many generations of the Hightower family. Now the youngest Hightower, Elizabeth, finds herself beneath its roof, staying with her cold and distant aunt while her father is on a summer lecture tour. Ghostly visitations that at first seem to be no more than dreams take on a real and frightening clarity, as the line between sleeping and waking begins to blur.
