This paranormal historical western romance tells the tale of a cowboy named Zeke Kurry. He's died and gone to Purgatory. If he wants to get into Heaven he must save his daughter's farm from foreclosure. Zeke haunts a banker, Luke Hammond, in order to get his cooperation to help him. As a result of Zeke's underhanded spells, Luke ends up a pauper, cast jobless and homeless on the street. Addie finds Luke sleeping on a bench and offers him meals and shelter in exchange for work. Zeke's wishes and spells force Luke to lie to everyone he meets. Soon his lies catch up with him. Poor Luke ends up on trial for robbing and murdering himself. Zeke has to get his next wish right. If he fails, Luke will be hung at sundown. Funny, suspenseful, touchingly romantic, this ghostly cowboy tale will keep you laughing to the end.
