Overnight, the population of Dalari disappeared, abandoning infants and elderly alike. Only the strongest would suffice. Forsaking their need for sustenance, they labored ceaselessly, driven by the geas of their master. Upon knee, they bowed before their new king, awakened to the glory of shadow. The Dreualfar turn to complete their next task. Thousands of Dreualfar swarmed upon unsuspecting lands. Entire settlements were left in ruin. A last stand of Dalari and Alfar pushed back, halting their progression. With balance shifted, the Dreualfar are forced underground and sealed away. Generations of men and gods work to right the wrongs. Overtime many forgot the evil trapped beneath their feet. In a new age, the shadow began to rise. From the ashes of death, four warriors become five, a union forged of blood and fire, The Order of the Trident.

From the Back Cover

This version of the book is the Directors's cut, so to speak. It contains the story as I wrote it, prior to going to the editor for review. In the back of this book, you'll find a few promotional interviews I wrote on my social media site to give people a lead up to the story without giving away too much detail. These promotions will not be posted in the finalized version, releasing in October 2016.Additionally, the back cover of this book contains a map of Dalmoura, which I drew several years ago when I first started writing this book. The finalized version will not contain this map as the back cover. If you've made it this far into the descriptions of this book, then I'm sure you already know that this is a limited edition, and will never be printed again after April 30th. I urge you to get your copy now, before they disappear.

About the Author

From an early age, Samuel Rikard was drawn to the realm of fantasy. Monsters and magic, or starships and warlords, there was nothing too far fetched or out of reach. In his early teens he was introduced to Live Action Role Play. Finding this new and exciting world, he felt at home. Before long he began writing, first details about his characters, then short stories and in-game missives, he developed a style. After high school he joined the military, where he trained exclusively with demolitions. Realizing that wasn't the life for him, he came home and began the quest for happiness. With his love of storyline, he decided to write a book. Through chance, fate, happenstance, whatever you want to call it, he made some professional contacts and began to learn about the industry. Proving his dedication, and his ability to learn, he was offered a contract. One turned into two, and two became three. Before long, he had a full list of industry professionals. When working with reputation, he's know as the man to get things done. When he's not writing, he's working as a mechanic and raising his daughter, Breanna. They live in Southwest Missouri with their cat, Andronus.
