FEAR WALKS THE NIGHT

Frederick Cowles (1900–48) was a librarian by profession who occupied his leisure hours writing on the subjects of topography and gipsy lore. In addition he wrote sixty-one ghost stories. FEAR WALKS THE NIGHT contains seventeen of those stories, and the collection did not see publication until 1993, forty-five years after the author's death. The remainder of Cowles's supernatural fiction is collection in the companion volumes, THE HORROR OF ABBOT'S GRANGE and THE NIGHT WIND HOWLS.
