Boscastle is a young man from the west of England during the time of the Napoleonic Wars, he hails from a family of wealth. His early career in the King’s Navy is cut short when he is taken captive by the Barbary Coast Pirates one night while in a drunken stupor. He is taken to a stronghold of the Barbary pirates on the sweltering African shore and pressed into service as a galley slave. But the indomitable make for poor slaves. One day he sees his opportunity to escape, kills one of his captors and he flees into the desert, where he is hotly pursued by the vengeful brother of the man he slew. In his flight into the desolation of the Sahara, he finds the ruins of a lost and ancient city in the endless dune sea... This is the first adventure of Boscastle, fearless and skilled swordsman and warrior fighting supernatural menaces and all manner of injustice wherever he finds it.
