When Al and Helen move to town with their young son, Billy, their lives are changed forever.About the AuthorSterling Beirness is retired and lives in the Cariboo, where he has lived since the fall of 1962. Throughout the years, he's worked a number of jobs, holding positions in lumber mills, the logging industry, and on various farms and ranches. He has also owned a couple of placer claims and sold firewood. In the fall, he still likes to spend a few days chopping his own firewood.Beirness lives with his dog named Spirit, two cats, two budgies, and a few laying hens. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing and hunting. In addition, his hobbies include photography, woodworking, writing and oil painting wildlife scenery.
