After fourteen-year-old Thomas Oakley's grandmother dies, Thomas's latent abilities to see spirits begin to develop, with a series of ghostly manifestations affecting both him and his family. With Dad, a strict Christian, insisting that spirits come only from the devil and Mum claiming they can be forces for good, Thomas doesn't quite know what to believe, as he struggles to piece together the troubled history of his family, as revealed by the ghosts.
