When Philip Thibodaux returns to Louisiana to assume control of his late father's sugar plantation, the slaves hope that he will be as benevolent as their old master-- but they will be sorely disappointed. It soon becomes clear that Philip is a sadist who delights in boiling slaves alive and violating servants with kitchen utensils. Their only hope for survival is Mambo Nia, a wet nurse whose breast milk has the ability to transform humans into soucouyants-- the mythical blood-sucking hags of Caribbean legend. It's a bloodbath on the bayou as Philip and his whip-cracking overseers learn a painful lesson about Haitian voodoo, black magic and vagina dentata in this twisted tale of Creole creepiness.
