Kill By Kill: Talking Horror Characters One Death At A Time

Death is just a word, but podcasting is a sacred duty - that’s why we’re braving the storm to bring you follow-up coverage to a blockbuster sequel, 2025’s BLACK PHONE 2!! That’s right, we’re not just taking ghost calls, we’re making them as we dig into the evolution of the film’s lore building, explore the very pointed and relevant Christian messaging within both Black Phone movies, consider the compelling nature of a character’s decency, and discuss what makes an essential Cargill/Derrickson horror flick!! All this, plus cabin rules, Curtains references, potty mouths, stoned snow jogging, skeleton feet, blizzard camps, pot dealer haircuts, sensual dojo dream fights, and a 16mm-filmed version of Choose Your Own Deathventure!! Be warned: it's SPOILERS almost immediately!

NOTE: Last week, Gena successfully underwent surgery and received her kidney transplant. We're thrilled for her and can't wait to start recording new episodes, but there may be some delays. That's right, we're celebrating almost a decade of making fun of horror movie characters in the order in which they die by revisiting where it all began: the first episode of Kill By Kill!! In this episode, Patrick and Gena will unpack all the gory details of horror cinema’s least appreciated element: the characters, starting with the 1980 slasher classic, FRIDAY THE 13th!
