(The Attic Expeditions, The Thirst, The Theater Bizarre, The Wizard of Gore) Along the way, we get into his new film, The Dead Ones (available Sept. 29th from Kino Lorber Home Video), we talk about how sleaze and art in Baltimore shaped his tastes, which hip hop legend he helped with their first acid trip, how he navigated the indie movie scene in Los Angeles, and how he ended up on a farm in Maine. Murder? Mikey likes it!! Our trilogy of killer kids reaches its apex with 1992’s MIKEY - a film that exists! Here to help us understand young, villainous minds is Returning Champion, Becky Wilson! We admit it - we don’t have much of a plot breakdown here. What we do have is LOTS of questions, like: What is a Raccoon Yamaka? Is a full body stocking too risqué for the hot tub? Why did we see so much of Freddy Krueger’s torso on film? Is Ashley Lawerence taking Heather Langenkamp’s hair volume crown? How many adults with terrible instincts were involved in Brian Bonsall’s lead performance? Finally, a new edition of Choose Your Own Death-venture emerges from the shadows and we also wonder aloud if this movie part of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise? The answers will frighten you in a way this movie WILL NOT!

The saying, “You can pick your friends, but you can’t choose your family,” is put to a very dire test in this week’s episode of DISH BY DISH: A Hannibal Rewatch project. Gena & Patrick are pushed to the brink by an episode that tears apart the fabric of what it means to be a family, and they are left reeling as a result. Every question leads to a more depressing answer - and it’s so compelling that you simply can’t turn away! We do try to find moments of levity along the way as we discuss our reactions to Hannibal’s constant “mystery meat” offerings, consider dropping ’shrooms with a therapist, and debate what Dr. Lecter’s novelty t-shirt collection might contain. It’s either laugh or cry time, people.
