Scream 4 vol. 2 (w/ Brother Ghoulish)
Released on 10/15/2021
We’re ready to let all the guts hang out on the second volume of SCREAM 4! Here to help us mop up this blood bath is the host of Brother Ghoulish's Tomb podcast, the one and only Ryan Kinney! Along the way, we discuss Maureen Prescott Delusion Syndrome, Ryan connects Scream to A Pup Named Scooby Doo, we explore the idea of Ghostface’s new utility belt, and we finally discover the ultimate Scream trope: News Van Violence. All this and a very pointed edition of Choose Your Own Death-venture and we highlight perhaps the worst crime committed in this middle section of the film: Jill’s late-night snack! Be afraid. Be very afraid!

New Scream movie, new rules! It’s time to discuss our favorite scary movie franchise of Season 3, 2011’s SCREAM 4! All that, and we play a blood-drenched edition of Choose Your Own Death-venture, deep dive into the teenage bedroom poster game of Jill Roberts, and lay out our plan to finally tackle the HALLOWEEN franchise on Patreon! Killer Party (w/ Brennan Klein)
Released on 10/01/2021
What kind of movie is 1986’s KILLER PARTY? Patrick thinks it’s a perfect “U-shaped film” with the high points coming at the beginning and end. Gena calls it the Amazon Women On The Moon of slashers. Our guest and Returning Champion, Brennan Klein, believes the narrative is unstuck in time, like a Christopher Nolan puzzle box. But nothing in heaven nor on Earth can prepare you for this slobs vs. snobs vs. ghost slasher vs. hair metal band horror/comedy hybrid. Along the way, we discuss dramatic priests, comb-over mullets, more smoking bread, and the existence of a real band named White Sister… and that’s just the first 10 minutes of this thing!! Folks, we may have found the most Kill By Kill horror movie of all time! Yes, of course we play Choose Your Own Deathventure. Yes, we spend a good five minutes on the legality of burying someone in your own backyard. Yes, there is a #GetBunked death. Yes, this episode description is too long! Also, stay tuned for a SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT at the end of the episode. This movie is A LOT.

The Exorcist III (w/ Drew McWeeny)
Released on 09/24/2021
Do you dare to walk these stairs again? Too late, we’re already falling down them into 1990’s THE EXORCIST III, and helping to cushion our fall is film and culture writer Drew McWeeny! Along the way, we tackle the film’s “one and done” filming strategy, we debate how the film’s unreality becomes a reality, the incredible performances given by George C. Scott, Brad Dourif, and the other supporting characters, we work through the high camp comedy combined with dedicated sincerity of the characters, and of course, we pick apart the film’s scariest shock sequence: Larry King ordering a sandwich. All this plus a high-spirited round of Choose Your Own Deathventure, and yes, we talk about “the jump scare.” And Fabio.

Exorcist II: The Heretic (w/ Mark O. Estes)
Released on 09/17/2021
Ride the wings of death with us as we telepathically sync with one of the most notorious flops in cinema history, 1978’s EXORCIST II: THE HERETIC. Here to help us grapple with this philosophical space oddity is writer and podcaster Mark O. Estes!! Along the way, we tackle mankinis, debate which performers decided to give up on acting during the film, observe a priest fight a fire with crutches, and openly doubt Pazuzu’s game-planning abilities. All this, plus a spirited game of Choose Your Own Death-venture and a bout of Foxy Boxing! If you haven’t guessed, this movie broke us.

Candyman (2021)
Released on 09/03/2021
It’s time to say his name! On this week’s episode, we discuss the 2021 reboot/sequel CANDYMAN from director Nia DaCosta! And never fear, we’ve split this episode into two halves, one upfront giving you some spoiler-free impressions before we dive into the hive of all the details behind this bloody new affair. We talk storytelling ambition vs. focus, we’re slightly thrown by the inclusion of Paul Hogan as Crocodile Dundee, we debate whether the film should have been called Candyman$, and we sing the praises of Colman Domingo along with the direction and some incredible practical effects work. Be our vict… listener! Yeah, that’s it - be our LISTENER!!

The Exorcist (1973)
Released on 08/27/2021
Somewhere between science and superstition, there is this week’s episode where we’re talking all about the 1973 classic, THE EXORCIST! Pull up a bowl of pea soup as we discuss how the film changed cinema when it was released and how it affects us now. Gena lays out her required viewing list for every horror fan, we introduce our new sponsor, the Box of Spiders, we wonder why every doctor is too busy smoking to help this family, and finally do the impossible: compare Rosemary’s Baby to Morticia Addams. We also change things up with a game of Choose Your Own Dire Apartment To Live In and break down the amazingly constructed, collaborative performances that bring Reagan McNeil to the big screen. You bring the Holy Water, and we’ll bring the show!
