He orchestrated the 1969 murders of movie actress Sharon Tate and six others in Los Angeles to ignite a race war he called "Helter Skelter", which Manson took from The Beatles "White Album". The novel chronicles his childhood, criminal career, and the events that led to the Tate-Labianca murders. Contains materials that may make some readers uncomfortable.
