After a hike in her grandma's woods, Lexi's sister Amara vanishes into thin air, but the problems have only just begun. Her friends begin noticing traces of something more supernatural than just your normal serial killer in the small town of Hecate. Strange possessions, hallucinations, and bizarre weather phenomenons plague the region with no logical explanation. Something dark is in the woods and in order to defeat it, the kids will have to work through their struggles or they might be its next meal. Relationships will be formed and bonds will be broken.
