Timmy called them “awake dreams” when he was younger, but that title didn’t do them justice anymore. These were worse than anything he had ever experienced. They had become more intense and darker over the last couple months, but even so, this had been the most violent. He just felt a man light himself on fire, felt every single reason, felt the cold, then hot sensation of the gasoline, felt the numbness that overtook his mind before he struck the metal wheel of the lighter, and felt the flames until… well, until Daniel Krow could no longer feel them himself. He had blended with him and felt what he felt, thought what he thought, smelled what he smelled and burned when he burned. He had almost passed out from the pain at one point, but it was only Daniel Krow’s thoughts that kept him present. This was no longer an awake dream, this was blending. Blending wasn't new to him but it had changed since Clea slid into the neighborhood through the darkened street and placed the sign in her front yard. "Psychic Readings - No Charge" It was an invitation to him. To the boy that had more power than he knew. The boy that could blend with the living and the dead and could move them between the two. She had seen the future and was brought here to stop it. To change it. To help him. To end them. To end him. To do what ever was necessary. But above all else, she had to stop him from Blending with the Others.
