When a young teacher, Sasha Laurent, and her little sister, who's still in high school, Christy Laurent, inherit a large home after the death of a distant relative, both of them are extremely curious to find out more. After traveling to California to visit the residence, they decide to return the following month and spend a week living in the house. At first seen as an adventure away from home, and also an exciting week leading up to New Year's Eve, it eventually turns into a frightful and unexpected experience. Strange sightings take place in and around the house, as well as unexplained sounds and voices, leading both sisters to believe that the house is haunted. Unusual events also happen around town as strange individuals appear to be following them and a child goes missing. Only the friendship of a young man by the name of George appears to offer any comfort, but as the end of the week finally approaches, fear turns to terror and their lives turn into a fight for survival.
