Horrid Tales of Wister Town

Horrid Tales of Wister Town

In Matthew Sawyer's creepy and grisly short story collection, entitled Horrid Tales of Wister Town, a demon emerges from the woods that border a rural subdivision outside of Wister Town. The manifestation of the demon brings monsters to a city already plagued with witches and mutant monsters. The activity of cultists in the small southern Wisconsin town have brought the scourge onto the denizens.

About the Author

I hate talking about myself. Like everyone, I suppose, I am a bitnarcissistic, but not egotistical. My own failure for success is that Ijust do not think much about myself. That is not to say I spend too much time thinking about others. In truth, I should think more of everyone;and there is a dull guilt attached to that confession. There issomething of who I am, I am old enough for regrets. At my age, I am prone to think about immortality And being an atheist, there seems no alternative but science. Even so, I know that science isbeyond my lifetime. I have no faith nor hope, nor do I believe inghosts, elves, unicorns...In that hopeless disbelief, I write so there remains a record ofaccomplishments in my life. Unrecognized and even scorned, I continue to tell stories so I will be remembered after I am dead. My struggle withgrammar and punctuation are evidence of my effort to make my writingdecipherable. Because, what success means to me are hieroglyphics upon a Pharaoh's tomb.
