Luke Calhoun leaves his turbulent life in North Carolina behind to start over at the cabin on the lake in South Carolina where he spent his childhood summers for a fresh start. His only focus is to rebuild his life and focus on his writing. He is not looking to get involved another relationship. He is completely unprepared for the chaotic events that are to come or the danger that follows him. He meets Abby Thomas and they strike up a friendship. Abby has had a rough time herself. Her life revolves around her work, her best friend, and her pets. Almost immediately events start to unfold that not only puts Abby in danger but also puts Luke in a tough spot. He has to find a way to tell Abby that he has a unique gift. A gift that he has had since he was a child and a gift that most people would not understand. Luke is able to see ghosts and Abby had no idea the extent of the activity going on in her home. She is also totally unprepared that her life is about to be turned upside down and just how much danger she is in.
