Carter was dying. Without his shifted form to maintain his immortality, his body was breaking down, and his age was catching up with him. He accepted it and even welcomed it after such a long and lonely existence. Whilst the ever-present whiskey flask helped numb the pain, there was one thing he still needed to do - destroy those who did this to him. With a plan in place and a looming death sentence, Carter was completely blindsided when a cute, straight-talking human called Skye stumbled into his life – literally. It was typical of Skye to fall over in front of the first hot guy she’d seen.
