Still dreaming of one day doing enough good works to regrow all his flesh, Josiah follows Judge Danforth to Salem, the City of Peace. But they do not stay in the beautiful citadel for long, as Danforth is given an assignment. She is to go to Grayflats County, a land filled with abominations. A place where the ground itself is said to devour the inhabitants of the land. There they are to hunt down Judge Gedney, who was once a dedicated servant of The Ghost, but has since become corrupt and allowed wickedness to thrive. All the while, Josiah questions the righteousness of what they are doing. Is the posse truly a force for good? Or are they just more monsters in the Hellish landscape under a sunless sky?
