The Croatoan Council: The Outset

The Croatoan Council: The Outset

In 1587 a group of English settlers landed on Roanoke Island, North Carolina. They lived off the land as best they could, but soon enough provisions began to dwindle, game was scarce, and it was decided that their leader should return to England and bring back supplies to sustain them. Roughly a hundred settlers were left behind to hold the claim and continue to attempt to settle this new land. The winter was harsh, and the ground was too hard to bury those who perished. But when the bodies began to disappear in the night, the settlers panicked and moved their group to Croatoan Island. When this didn't end the grisly nightly visits, they ran again, but couldn't escape what followed them. Nearly all of the settlers were killed in battle with beasts they'd never encountered, monsters that saw them as prey. The few remaining survivors went deep underground in Virginia and formed a secret society to fight the evil in their new world, and The Croatoan Council was born. More than four-hundred-years later, the council still does what it was formed to do, wage war against evil. The Croatoan Council, a secret society in Roanoke, Virginia, wish to recruit local police officer, Naomi Hewes, into their ranks. She agrees to look into them, and when she finds out why the society was formed, she's curious. When she hears their story, she joins the group and finds herself face to face with evil itself. Shrouded in mystery, hidden from the eyes of the public, the members of this elite group must battle demons, ghosts, and monsters to preserve the world. But what will happen when a great, ancient evil threatens? Can Naomi and the Council save the world? Start the journey in book one of... The Croatoan Council.
