Off the Rails and Other Tales

Award winning director, Jason Liquori, has written and directed independent suspense movies like “Stopped Dead” and “Savaged”. Early in his career he brought home-video audiences vampires and werewolves with “The Lunar Pack”. In the pages of this book he has been able to let his imagination run free without the restrictions of low budgets and short production schedules. In this collection he has assembled tales of monsters, aliens, lunatics, cowboys, a caveman, a Nazi and more. Each story tackles horror or science fiction through the eyes of different characters and in different ways, but throughout the book the feeling of isolation and facing danger “alone,” cut off from the world, prevails. "Banker's Hours" - when bank robbers decide to take down a small town bank they run into more than a watchdog. "Night Crawl" - Giant insects are over running the Southern coast of North America. A group of three young people decides to head to a colder climate to try and wait out the threat, but the bugs aren't the only thing to worry about after the sun goes down. "Front Window: An Alien Vengeance Tale" : The alien from the "Alien Vengeance" feature films is up to his old tricks, but Deputy Lawrence is still on his...or is it her, tail and he means to get his man...um, woman, er...blob of gelatinous alien monster flesh. "The Whole of Time" : A group of people from varying points in Earth's history (and pre-history) find themselves trapped together in a cave. Some of them seem to be natural enemies, but there is a greater threat and only solving the mystery of how they came to be in this trap can save their lives. "Off the Rails" : When a train carrying lunatics being brought to an asylum "Back East", the surviving passengers must survive a night in the desert and pray that help arrives before they are overrun.
