Negli ultimi due anni Calvin è rimasto solo, dopo che una tempesta elettrica ha ridotto in zombie tutti coloro che l’hanno osservata, comprese sua moglie e sua figlia. Due lunghi, solitari anni trascorsi barricandosi in casa, salvo sporadiche incursioni in città per procurarsi l’indispensabile per sopravvivere… Ma oggi, finalmente, Calvin decide che il Natale sarà festeggiato!Si avventura nel locale supermarket per prendere un nuovo albero e altre decorazioni, trovandosi naturalmente a scontrarsi coi famelici morti viventi che si aggirano ovunque. Sulla via del ritorno, decide di salvare un povero cane che, come lui, sta fuggendo per salvarsi la vita. I due si ritroveranno quindi a lottare assieme contro le orde mostruose, col miraggio di poter poi assaporare, nonostante tutto, la dolce atmosfera del Natale…
