RELICS: The Chronicles of Solomon Drake

RELICS - The Chronicles of Solomon Drake, is a Fantasy story set in modern day Detroit. It's about a young man named Solomon Drake who’s a Wizard and works in Blackmane's Magic and Potion Shop. He is the apprentice of Barnabas Blackmane, who is also Solomon’s adoptive father. His mother died in childbirth and his father's fate is a mystery. Solomon is part of a strange world that exist right along side ours. Creatures and beings of every description such as, Witches, Trolls, Elves, Dwarves and Demons move among us Normals beyond the notice of most everyone.On a brisk Monday in December - after staying up most of the night looking after a pack of sick Werewolves - Solomon's world is turned upside down when a small Cob Elf is found in the back of Blackmane’s with a strange crystal in his possession, a crystal that contains the spirit of the powerful Wizard Merlin. What makes matters worse is an Albino along with his sexy twin leather clad Vampire accomplices enters the store hunting for the Elf and the crystal he carries, which they hope will lead them to the hidden resting place of King Arthur’s sword Excalibur. What happens next will lead Solomon on a quest that might just end up costing him his life.

About the Author

Robert York was born and raised in Northern Illinois. He is a graduate of Lake Park High School in Roselle, Illinois. After graduating from High School, Robert began his career in the Graphic Arts industry. In 1992 Robert began his education in the medium of Films. He wrote his first full length screenplay entitled, "As Darkness Falls," which was an inspiration after reading Syd Field's "Screenplay: The Foundation of Screenwriting." In 1997 Robert met Kelly (the woman that would become his wife) in an AOL lobby of all places. They met and fell in love and after a whirlwind romance (which continues to this day) Robert and Kelly married two years and a day later in 1999. Mackenzie, the first of their two children was born in 2001 and Sydney, their second daughter was born in 2004. In late 2007 Robert began work on an online comic entitled ZAZZPLANET.com. The comic was about a hapless alien named ZAZZ and a sanitation robot named CO-AX that crash-landed on Earth in a stolen spaceship. That pair make the life of one human named Steve a living hell. The comic ran for nearly three years cultivating a minor following. An avid reader, Robert decided to jump into the rewarding, yet difficult world of writing. In 2014 he began writing short stories, one in particular, "The Yuckberry Tart," laid the groundwork for his first full length novel entitled, "RELICS: The Chronicles of Solomon Drake," which he completed in SUMMER of 2018. Robert continues to write and is currently writing the sequel to "RELICS," called "DEAD REIGN" which is due out in SUMMER of 2019
