In the heat of the North Carolina summer, Ernest Cassel is trying to make a killing off moonshine. Not too far away, young Audrey Brown has gathered at her family's cabin with her cronies for a weekend of altered states. A car accident on the forested back roads of the Uwharrie National Forest throws Cassel and Brown into a world following the tradition of the eldritch legends that circle the area.
