Book 2 (Valley of the Crulls Trilogy). On a cursed recon mission to transgress the center of the galaxy three men find themselves stranded on an unknown world due to mechanical failure. She helps defend her walled city and its defenseless grainfields from destruction or burning by the cruel northern race. Her presence will prove invaluable in their quest for freedom. Nick will also find that the planet harbors another reclusive intelligent race unlike anything that has been discovered by earth or its colonization throughout the galaxy. An alien winged species.
