In public, he is a respectable Anglican Treasury Official and renowned mathematics professor, who wears a fashionable wig. In private, she is a prickly, cantankerous young woman; who dabbles in alchemy, necromancy, theology, and the occult. Desperate for answers to a myriad of baffling questions posed by natural philosophy, she attempts to invoke the spirit of a hanged counterfeiter.
