Stoker’s manuscript was entitled simply ‘The Un-Dead’ up until a few weeks before publication, and the name he chose for the count was originally ‘Count Wampyr’ before he christened him ‘Dracula’. And made him enter into History. The story begins with Jonathan Harker, a young English solicitor, visiting Count Dracula in the Mountains of Transylvania, to provide legal support for a real estate transaction. At first enticed by Dracula’s gracious manners, Harker soon realizes that he is his prisoner. Wandering the castle against Dracula’s admonition, Harker encounters three female vampires. After the preparations are made, Dracula leaves Transylvania and abandons Harker to the sisters…

About the Author

Bram (Abraham) Stoker will remain in the universal history of literature as the immortal author of Dracula, although he wrote many other novels. He spent several years researching European folklore and mythological stories of vampires. Born an Irishman, Stoker died in London in 1912.
