After bringing the sphere triad together, a scroll appeared in a language that no one had seen before. Before being able to tackle the scroll's mysteries, Jaxon must first try and recover from the trials he endured during his last adventure. Haunted by the memory of his tormentor, Jaxon returns home to the Red Desert where he was raised. However, the desire to discover more about the rings proves too great, and Jaxon returns home to Wanlass, unaware that another enemy has discovered where he is, and is determined to make him suffer.
