The year is 2017, and eight years before Billy Anderson woke up in his apartment, recalling only two things; his name, and the knowledge that he is the Angel of Death. It’s a title he scoffs at, as he believes that he has no power except the ability to feel the mourning, anger, guilt, and fear of the souls that pass through him as he acts as the Lychgate. His only friends are his neighbors from across the hall, Gwyn and Jake, who had just moved in after Billy forgot everything. His closest companions have been away on a kind of honeymoon, leaving Billy to dwell on the images of ocean-green eyes, golden-blonde hair, a laugh that could shake the most icy heart, and a feeling that there is something more. He doesn’t know if these are simply fantasies, or if the girl is somehow real. By chance Billy meets a beautiful woman named Kate, and his entire world shifts, leading him in a direction he never imagined to be possible. In Billy’s past he finds so much more than his future waiting, and in his future he discovers that the past never dies.
