A New York photographer, Miriam Glass, travels to an archaeological site in Yucatan to document ancient Maya artifacts. Instead, she runs into murder and intrigue. A police Lieutenant, Jose Luis Contreras, asks for her help on the case because it involves interacting with the expatriate community. Miriam navigates a series of difficult personal relationships and discovers that valuable artifacts are being looted from the ancient city of Yaxum. Greed and ambition have lead to at least one grisly murder.
