Brad Strill is an old man with no legacy to leave behind. He has no wife, no kids, and he left behind a job that most would find of no interest. He lived an unremarkable life. At least, it looks that way from the outside. What nobody knows is that he has a secret he has kept to himself, a terrible secret that has tormented him for decades. As a child, a creature appeared to him. An impossibly dark, slender monstrosity that foreshadowed the pain and suffering he was about to experience. With nobody to confide in, he decides to write a memoir in an attempt to understand and explain why the creature attached itself to him. But as he begins to connect the dots, he comes to an awful realization. The horror he has faced is not over and may only be just beginning. This story is dedicated to the author's father who passed away from Neuroendocrine Cancer shortly before its publication. All proceeds made by the author of this novella will be donated to the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation (NETRF).
