The Japanese have surrendered and World War II is over. In the weeks that follow, Jack Jones has bought the seaplane he flew during the war and is heading back across the Pacific to make his fortune. Upon his return to the Philippines, Jack is hired by a Marine Corps general to investigate the ghostly sightings of four marines who were killed in action on the remote island of Tamana. With the aid of Elizabeth Morgan, a beautiful Red Cross nurse, and Moto, a former Japanese soldier, the investigation takes the trio to the atomic destruction of Nagasaki, where they meet a Japanese enchantress who knows the general's secret and the true mission of the fallen marines.
